It is patient-controlled analgesia, which means that you hold the tubing that delivers a 50/50 blend of oxygen and nitrogen. You breathe off the ProNox in about 3 minutes, so you are safe to drive home. Older patients may need a little longer to feel back to normal, so you may want to stay and sit in the waiting area until you feel like the gas is gone from your system. You can add ProNox to any appointment (except Consultations- if you need ProNox for that, then we’re doing something wrong!).
